Giving New Life to
Discarded Advanced Materials
Most advanced metal materials and high-value components used in Korean industrial sites still rely entirely on imports. When these components are damaged, they are simply discarded or even exported overseas. This represents a serious loss in terms of technological independence, resource circulation, and industrial competitiveness.
SOLUTION
RE-FIT's Solution Approach
RE-FIT has faced this problem head-on. Precision components that were impossible to restore with conventional welding methods, resources that were discarded due to technological limitations despite being repairable. We apply advanced 3D printing-based repair technology to these components, realizing resource recycling and reuse in a completely new way.
WHY
Why 3D Printing
Traditional component manufacturing involves creating molds, casting and forging, then cutting and polishing to make parts, which generates significant scrap and is cost-inefficient. Complex shapes are often impossible to manufacture using conventional methods. However, 3D printing has precise manufacturing processes and high shape freedom making any shape possible. It can be manufactured based on design data, providing advantages in lead time and minimizing cutting processes, reducing material waste and enabling lightweighting. It also enables precise local repairs for components that were previously impossible to repair with conventional welding methods.
